Busy Bee!

This week has been an exciting week with deadlines looming, a trip to London and lots of post. It started with the arrival of the source book from my lovely agents at Bright!

On Wednesday I was fortunate enough to go to London for PGLive with fellow Bright artist Michelle Breen. We had a lovely time meeting our agents, getting lots of advise and chocolates!

It was great traveling to London for the day, and creating havoc as I caused a human traffic jam on the underground escalators! I got to see lots of wonderful designs at the card show and chatted away for hours with my friend, which was a lovely break from the deadlines waiting for me at home.

I bought a lovely big sketchpad while I was there and have had my first go at hand lettering which is completely out of my comfort zone! I've found it really difficult but intend to keep practicing at it as I would love to be able to add it to my designs in the future.

I've also managed to photograph some more card samples this week, which are in Sainsurys right now, yay!

New Sainsburys Cards

It's been a while but I've managed to steal a few minutes to post some photos of a couple of greeting card designs that are in Sainsburys at the moment.

The first is a Wife birthday design which has lovely buttons, pearls,
gems and sequins added and printed with a pearl finish.

This second birthday design is for Nan and has purple glitter, sequins,
gems and is also produced with a pearl  finish. They are really lovely cards to work and I'm really excited to see them in my local Sainsburys!

Happy Easter!

It's that time of year again, the smell of chocolate is in the air, lots of time off work and big family meals to be enjoyed. Hopefully we will get some warmer weather too and lovely flowers spontaneously popping out of the ground! That would be nice...

In the meantime it feels like I'm finally getting somewhere with the updates I wanted to post. Here are a couple of Easter designs I did which I was very excited to find in Tescos!

Also exciting was finding my Easter designs below on the Print Pattern website in their review of the 2013 Easter cards selection at Tescos.

New Work on Bright!

The Bologna Children's Book Fair is in full swing and celebrating it's 50th Anniversary this year! The lovely agents at Bright go every year and showcase all their new artwork.  I prepared a couple of new book spreads for the event and for Bright to take with them. I'm very excited to know my work will be shown alongside that of some amazing artists at Bright and no less at the Bologna Fair which one day I hope to go and see for myself!

Mother's Day

I'm a bit behind with my posts lately due to a heavy workload and a poorly toddler, but here finally are some of the Mother's day designs from this year for Sainsburys.

I do really enjoy working in this style. I use monoprint to make the line work, watercolours for the flowers and the background and then put it all together on the mac. It's lovely to get to work with a variety of mediums and get my hands dirty!
Below is a new range I'm really excited about! It's a lovely project to work on and the cards are hand finished with lots gems and sequins. It has a pearlised finish to the card and glittered letters!

More Poppies!

I've found a few more images from the poppy and lavender illustrations I did a while ago. These are more recent developments of the illustrations I've done. It's lovely to see them on more products!
